Mt. Monomiishi

Monomiishiyama is a 1,985 m mountain in Takeshi, Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, on the eastern side of the Utsukushigahara plateau at the northern end of Yatsugatake-Chushin-Kogen Quasi-National Park. The plateau is a 600-hectare grassland lying around 2,000 m, known as one of Japan's Hundred Flower Mountains for its roughly 200 alpine plant species, with sweeping views of Mount Fuji, the Yatsugatake range and the Northern Alps. The Takeshi tourism association's trekking map lays out a dedicated Monomiishiyama course.
