Oku-Kesamaru-yama is an approximately 1,961-metre peak on the boundary of Nikko City (Tochigi) and Numata and Midori Cities (Gunma), and the highest summit of the Kesamaru range, which also comprises Mae-Kesamaru, Ushiro-Kesamaru, Naka-Kesamaru and Hoshi-dake. Also known as Hikoiwa-dake, it lies in the Ashio Mountains within Nikko National Park. Set at the far end of a range famous for its Akayashio azaleas, it is a quiet peak that sees few visitors.
