Nokogiriyama is a 1,998 m peak straddling the Nikkō City (Tochigi) – Numata City (Gunma) boundary at the heart of the Ashio Range, sitting on the ridge between Kōshinzan and Sukai-san. As its name ("saw mountain") suggests, the crest is a serrated line of eleven minor peaks, and the classic Kōshin–Nokogiri–Sukai traverse from Kōshin-sansō to Sukai-san strings together a sequence of chained rock steps and knife-edge sections that have a notorious reputation among Japan-100 climbers. The peak forms part of the Ashio area added to Nikkō National Park in 2014, and is listed in the Tochigi Hyakumeizan and the Gunma 300.
