Takadaira Ski Area Closed
Official name 高平スキー場
Gifu
Closed in 1993
Takadaira was a small ski area just off Route 158 in Shirotori, now part of Gujo City in northern Gifu. Three single chairlifts of 450 to 500 m fanned out from the left, centre and right of the base, serving three runs over about 150 m of vertical with pitches up to 30 degrees, and there was night skiing. It was abolished after the 1992-93 season. The site is now signed as a forest (Takadaira Ennen no Mori) but has become overgrown, with only the concrete lift foundations left.
