Shirakigamine Ski Area Closed
Official name 白木ヶ峰スキー場
Gifu
Open 1972–2010
Shirakigamine was a small ski area at Sugihara in the Miyakawa district of Hida, close to the Toyama border on Route 360 and a short walk from Sugihara Station on the JR Takayama Line. The former Miyakawa village opened it in 1972. Two single chairlifts served three mostly gentle runs, and the base was shared with Hida Manga Okoku, a manga library with an onsen and lodging. As visitor numbers fell it opened only at weekends, and the 2009-10 season was its last. The lifts have been removed and the old slope is now used as a drone flying field, while the manga library and onsen remain.
