Okudaisen Ski Area Closed
Official name 奥大山スキー場
Tottori
Open 1972–2019
Okudaisen Ski Area was a town-owned hill in the Mitsukue district of Kofu, on the southern foot of Mount Daisen in Tottori Prefecture. Opened in 1972, it had two chairlifts and four runs on a long, narrow natural slope ranging from gentle to steep, and drew local families. Visitor numbers fell from a peak of 50,000-60,000 a year to around 13,000, the town covered repeated losses, and the lifts needed costly replacement. After four failed searches for a private operator, the mayor said in 2019 that the town would not run it again. Its last season was 2017-18.

- Kofu Town (town-run, 1972-2018), One private designated manager (selected December 2018, withdrew January 2019)
- Why it closed
- Falling visitor numbers (from 50,000-60,000 a year at the peak to around 10,000-odd), continuing losses, and an estimated ¥200 million needed to replace the lifts. Four calls for a designated manager failed, and in June 2019 the mayor said the town would neither seek an operator again nor run it directly.
