Bear Valley Snow Resort sits on the north face of Mount Maruyama, just south of the Hiruzen Highlands in Maniwa, Okayama. It is about five minutes from Hiruzen IC on the Yonago Expressway and runs night skiing every day of the season, so it is easy to drop in after work. All four runs are lit, and a board park offers kickers, rails and boxes. A beginner run, a kids' snow park with a sledding escalator and a ski school make it a good choice for families. Snowmaking supports the season, which usually runs from late December to early March.
