Ibuki-no-Sato is a family ski area in Chiya, in the far north of Niimi near the Tottori border, and its snowmaking and snow-producing machines help keep the slopes open in thin winters. Five runs spread between about 650 m and 850 m, from very gentle beginner slopes to the Champion Valley with a 30-degree pitch, plus a board park. A fenced kids' park with a conveyor, sleds and inflatables and a ski school make it easy for young children, and the Niimi Chiya Onsen next door offers baths and rooms. It sits on Route 180, about 30 minutes from the Niimi interchange, and is reachable by bus from JR Niimi Station.
