Ombara Kogen Ski Area lies on the Onbara plateau in Kamisaibara, Kagamino, in the far north of Okayama near the Tottori border, and prides itself on running on natural snow only. Pair lifts serve a mid-sized hill with runs for beginners through advanced skiers, and on-site rentals plus ski and snowboard lessons make it popular with families and local skiers. The drive from the Chugoku Expressway's Innosho exit is straightforward, but the last stretch is heavy-snow country, so winter tyres are a must.
