NASPA Ski Garden is a skiers-only area in Echigo-Yuzawa, set right in front of the NASPA New Otani resort hotel, and snowboards are not allowed. Eight runs cover 260 m of vertical, from a 2.2 km beginner cruiser to the ungroomed, 38-degree D course and an SAJ-certified mogul run. The Pingu Kids Garden, kids' schools and lessons in English and Chinese make it popular with families. Hotel guests ski free and can soak in the hotel's hot-spring baths. A shuttle runs from nearby Echigo-Yuzawa Station, and the season usually lasts from late December to late March.
