GALA YUZAWA SNOW RESORT Japanese — Japanese

GALA Yuzawa is run by the JR East group, and its ski centre doubles as GALA-Yuzawa Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen, so skiers can step off the train and onto the gondola. Sixteen runs spread over the central, north and south areas (the four South Area runs and the ropeway to Yuzawa Kogen are currently suspended, with a shuttle bus between the two resorts instead), from gentle family slopes to a steep summit pitch with spring moguls, a snow park in the north area and a 2.5 km descent to the base. A sledding park and a hot-spring spa sit at the resort, and skiing usually lasts into Golden Week. A shared pass covers neighbouring Yuzawa Kogen and Ishiuchi Maruyama, and since 2026 the resort has branded itself GALA YUZAWA MOUNTAIN FIELD as it moves to year-round use.
