Mizusawa Ski Area Closed

Mizusawa was a tiny ski hill about 5 km west of central Nishikawa, Yamagata, a short way off Route 112. A local volunteer club ran its single rope tow, opening mostly in the evenings for night skiing. Since it closed the tow has been removed, and signs at the foot of the slope ask visitors not to climb further.
