Kotoriyama is Oe's small town-run ski hill in the Tomizawa area, a cheap place for local residents to get out on snow in winter. In the daytime the lift runs only on weekends and holidays, in morning and afternoon sessions, and there is also evening skiing. The season usually runs from early January to late February, though the opening can slip and the hill can close when snow is short. The Fujitayama farm road is closed in winter, so the slope cannot be reached by driving through from that side.
