Asahi Shizenkan Snow Park trail map
Asahi Shizenkan Snow Park is the winter ski hill of Asahi Shizenkan, a year-round resort with cottages and campsites at the foot of the Asahi mountains in Asahi Town, Yamagata. Two pair lifts serve two areas: the gentle Yu-Yu slope and Shirakura snow-play area by the car park, suited to families and beginners, and the more varied Fantasy slope for intermediate and advanced skiers. Under-sixes ride free and primary-school children ski free at weekends, with discount days through the week. The mid-mountain rest house is known for its giant ramen bowl, log cottages sit beside the slopes, and the unique Kuki (Air) Shrine is nearby. It is about 40 minutes by car from Yamagata City.
