Snow Park Omoshiroyama is on the north slope of Mt. Omoshiro in Yamadera, Yamagata City, inside Zao Quasi-National Park, and was known for being reached straight from the platform of Omoshiroyama-Kogen Station on the JR Senzan Line. The road is not cleared in winter, so the train was the only way in, and most visitors came from the Sendai side. It had six runs, four lifts, a park with jumps, a 34-degree maximum pitch and 440 m of vertical. Operations stopped after a lift failure in 2009 and the 2011 earthquake, and it has not reopened. In summer the slopes were planted with cosmos.
