Mountain Field Miyagi Zao Sumikawa trail map
Mountain Field Miyagi Zao Sumikawa sits high on the Miyagi side of the Zao range along the Zao Echo Line, starting at about 1,100 m, and is known for light powder and snow monsters (juhyo). Snowcat tours run out to the frost-covered trees and, in March, to the Okama crater lake, and inside the boundary you are free to ride under lifts and beside the runs at your own risk. Eight courses range from the 35-degree Atomi B to park lines and a 3 km beginner cruise. In winter the Yamagata side of the Echo Line is closed, so access is from Miyagi, with booked buses from Sendai Station and Togatta Onsen.

- Sendai Station (Aoba-dori, stop 33) → Togatta Onsen (Yunomachi) Miyako Bus (Sendai - Zao Town line) · Capacity-limited, pay on exit.
