Miyagi Zao Eboshi Resort lies on the eastern flank of the Zao range above Togatta Onsen, about an hour's drive from central Sendai. A gondola and several chairlifts serve twelve runs, from the 4.3 km Dynamic course, a gentle cruise with views over the Sendai plain to the Pacific, to the 35-degree Challenge run with moguls and fresh snow, and the SAJ-certified Jumbo race course. A kids' park with a long snow escalator and the separate Ishiko beginner slope make it popular with families. Outside winter the gondola carries visitors up for trekking, daffodils and autumn colour.
