ZAO LIZA WORLD trail map
Zao Liza World sits on the Bodaira plateau above Kaminoyama, at over 1,000 m on the southern side of the Zao range. Its lifts lead toward the famous Zao snow monsters, and guided snow-trekking tours head out to the rime-ice fields and frozen falls. Six runs range from the wide beginner Chuo slope through the scenic intermediate Kamoshika and Panorama runs to the FIS-homologated Aoitori, and an FIS cross-country course hosts races. The Liza Woody Lodge stands by the slopes. A free shuttle bus runs from Kaminoyama-Onsen Station, and the season usually lasts from mid-December to late March.

- Shinkansen Tokyo Station → Kaminoyama-Onsen Station Yamagata Shinkansen · 2 h 40 min by Tohoku/Yamagata Shinkansen · Shuttle: 2025-26 season (12 Dec 2025 to 29 Mar 2026) · Bus or taxi 30 min from the station. From Sendai Station (50 min) or Sendai Airport (80 min) take the bus to Yamagata Station, then the train to Kaminoyama-Onsen. From Niigata, 3 h via the Uetsu, Yonesaka and Yamagata Shinkansen lines → Free shuttle bus "White Echo" from the Kaminoyama Onsen tourist information stop (station front) to Zao Liza World Ski Resort, about 31 min; 2 round trips a day, no reservations, may be full
