Matsudai Family is a small city-run ski hill in Matsudai, Tokamachi, notable for being a walk from Matsudai station on the Hokuhoku Line. Two pair lifts serve three gentle beginner and intermediate runs with about 200 m of vertical and a longest run of 800 m, and snowboarding is allowed everywhere. It offers night skiing, plus a surf-skate ramp donated by a local builder. There is an SAJ-certified ski school, free parking, and the Shibatoge Onsen Unkai nearby for a soak afterwards.
