Akabirayama Ski Area was the city ski hill of Akabira in central Hokkaido, on the slopes of Mt. Akabira just south of the town and close to Route 38. A pair lift, two single lifts and a rope tow served four runs with about 280 m of vertical, including a 42-degree pitch, and there were 25 m and 40 m ski jumps. It closed in March 2004 and the site was left unused for years; in its 2021 facility plan the city decided to demolish the idle ski house and return the leased land. A D51 steam locomotive is displayed near the old base.
