Bibai Kokusetsu is the city-run ski area in Higashi-Bibai, an old coal-mining district east of Bibai, and has served locals for about 50 years. One pair chairlift reaches six runs over 185 m of vertical, and the slopes are lit two evenings a week. Preschoolers ride free and there are weekday discounts for women and seniors, so it is mainly a family and local hill. The city is rebuilding the ageing facilities with a new quad chairlift and centre house, planned to be ready for the 2027-28 season.
