Kamui Ski Links, about 30 minutes by car from central Asahikawa, is one of the largest ski areas in northern Hokkaido, with a gondola and five chairlifts serving 25 runs over some 600 m of vertical. It is known for dry, light powder: gated tree runs off the forest road, a summit mogul run and FIS-homologated race courses keep strong skiers busy, while a 4 km cruise and a wide base slope suit beginners. Buses run from Asahikawa Station, city hotels and Asahikawa Airport, and an international school offers lessons in English.
