Canmore Ski Village trail map
Canmore Ski Village takes its name from Canmore in Canada, the sister city of Higashikawa, and is the closest ski area to Asahikawa Airport, about 15 minutes away by car. A quad and a pair chairlift serve eight runs, from a wide beginner slope and a long forest trail to ungroomed mogul runs and the short, 31-degree Death Valley pitch. The lights stay on every evening, and the low-cost night ticket makes it a favourite after-work hill for locals. An SAJ-certified ski school, a kids' snow area and cross-country trails make it easy for families, and the season runs from late December to March.
