Mount Tosaka is a 2,115 m rock peak in Yamanashi City, near the center of the Oku-Chichibu range and north of Higashizawa Gorge in Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park. Its jagged ridge, seen from Nishizawa Gorge, resembles a rooster’s comb and gives the mountain its name; First, Second, and Third Rock Peaks rise in succession. There is no maintained route for ordinary hikers, and the climb requires experience with stream crossings, rock climbing, and route finding. A marker stands on the Third Rock Peak south of the summit, and a round trip from the Nishizawa Gorge entrance via the Tosaka Valley confluence takes about nine hours.
