Mount Kobiki

Mount Kobiki is a 2,301-metre peak in eastern Toyama City, lying within Chūbu-Sangaku National Park on a side ridge that branches eastward from Etchū-Sawadake in the Tateyama Range of the Hida Mountains (Northern Alps). It has no established trail and sits some four kilometres off the main ridgeline along sharp rock crests, making it one of the most remote mountains in Toyama. The summit holds the second-order triangulation point "Nunobikidani," and the peak is counted among Japan's 642 mountains above 2,000 metres. Its name is said to derive from historical timber felling and pit-sawing carried out on the slopes.
