Mount Gaki is a 2,647 m granite peak in Ōmachi City, Nagano Prefecture, marking the northern end of the Jōnen Range in the Hida (Northern Japanese) Alps. Set within Chūbu Sangaku National Park, it appears in the Nihon Nihyaku Meizan and the Shinshū Hyakumeizan. The summit ridge of dwarf pine and granitic gravel hosts notable Komakusa colonies, and the long crest commands open views of the adjoining Ura-Ginza traverse (Eboshi – Noguchi-Gorō – Suishō). The standard ascent climbs the Shirasawa trailhead route via Kōyō-no-Taki and Ōnagi-yama to Gaki-dake hut just below the summit (about eight hours up); fitter parties traverse from Nakabusa Onsen over Tsubakuro and Higashi-zawa-dake in a two-night loop. Quiet and uncrowded, the mountain is prized as one of the more peaceful summits of the area.
