Mount Echigo-Komagatake

Echigo-Komagatake is a 2,003-metre peak straddling Uonuma and Minami-Uonuma cities in Niigata Prefecture, and is the main summit of the Echigo Three Mountains together with Hachikaisan and Nakanotake. The massif lies within Echigosanzan-Tadami Quasi-National Park and is one of Fukada Kyūya's Hyakumeizan. The standard approach climbs from Shiori Pass, a spot also famous for its dramatic cascading-cloud phenomenon.
