A 1,134.2-metre volcano straddling the border of Kyōwa Town and Rankoshi Town in southwestern Hokkaidō, forming the central part of the Niseko Range. Its name comes from the Ainu cise-nupuri, meaning "house-shaped mountain," reflecting its trapezoidal silhouette. The summit holds a shallow crater with small ponds; the Shinsen-numa wetland (a Forestry Agency-designated "Beautiful Forest of Japan") sits on the north flank, and the Ōyu-numa hot pool and Yumoto Onsen lie at its southern foot. The peak is in the core of Niseko-Shakotan-Otaru Coast Quasi-National Park and appears on several Hokkaidō Hyakumeizan lists.
