Yuzawa Park is a family-oriented ski area in Tsuchitaru, Echigo-Yuzawa, run together with the Yuzawa Park Hotel at its base. It is five minutes from the Yuzawa IC and has a free shuttle from Echigo-Yuzawa Station, so it is easy to reach from Tokyo for the day. Most of its eleven runs are gentle, such as the Ginga trail through cedar woods and the wide Family slope, but Sky Valley and Challenge reach 31 degrees. There is a proper snow park with rails and kickers, an easy park for kids and a free kids' area for sleds and tubes. Parking is free.
