Nigorigo Onsen Ski Area Closed
Official name 濁河温泉スキー場 · Formerly 国設濁河スキー場
Gifu
Open 1963–2010
Nigorigo Onsen Ski Area was a city-run ski area on the north-western flank of Mount Ontake in Osaka, Gero, Gifu Prefecture, close to the remote Nigorigo hot-spring village. Opened in 1963 and once known as Kokusetsu Nigorigo, it sat above 1,700 metres and offered five largely ungroomed runs served by a pair lift and rope tows. Falling visitor numbers and ageing facilities led the city to close it after the 2009-10 season, and the lifts were removed. Part of the old base now hosts a cross-country course used for high-altitude training.
