Ontake Ski Resort trail map
Ontake Ski Resort sits on the southeastern slopes of sacred Mt. Ontake in Otaki village and tops out at 2,240 m, one of the highest ski areas in Japan. The altitude brings reliable snow and a season into early April. A 7 km panorama trail from the summit, with views of Ontake and the Central Alps, lets beginners ride from the top, while the 170 m wide Paradise run and the 35-degree Expert run challenge stronger skiers. Opened by the village in 1961 and long known as Ontake 2240, it has an on-site bath, Mikasa no Yu, and free parking.
