Open 1994–2024

Mount Jeans Nasu was a Tokyu-run ski resort on the eastern flank of Mount Nasu that opened in 1994 and drew day-trippers from Tokyo, about two hours away by car. The 1.7 km Nasu gondola carried skiers to the top, where ten runs dropped about 460 m with wide views over the Nasu highlands; a summit kids' park and a dog run made it popular with families and dog owners, and the gondola also ran for spring azaleas and autumn leaves. Warm winters and falling visitor numbers led the operator to close it after the 2023-24 season, with the last day on 10 March 2024. The site, on national land, is being prepared by Nasu town as a storage area for soil from Fukushima decontamination work.

Operators
Public-private venture (1994-2005), Tokyu Resorts & Stays (Tokyu Land Corporation group, 2005-2024)
Why it closed
Shorter seasons from warm winters and falling visitors (about 150,000 at the 2009-10 peak, about 65,000 in 2022-23); the operator chose to concentrate on the higher Hunter Mountain Shiobara.
The site today
Facilities including the gondola were to be removed and the slopes replanted before returning the national forest land; in 2025 Nasu town chose the former ski area as the collection site (about 8 ha) for decontamination soil, to be prepared in FY2025 with transfers from FY2026.
