Mount Nasu (Chausu-dake, 1,915 m) is an active volcano in Nasu Town, Tochigi Prefecture, and a prominent peak in the Nasu area. Part of Nikkō National Park, it forms a popular traverse together with Asahi-dake and Sanbonyari-dake. The Nasu Ropeway carries visitors close to the summit, making it one of the best-known day hikes in the Kantō region, with a long history of mountain worship and folklore including the Nine-Tailed Fox legend.
