This traverse starts at Nasu Ropeway’s upper station, visits Mount Chausu, continues via the Minenochaya-ato shelter to Mount Asahi and back, then descends toward Toge-no-chaya to the lower station. Mount Chausu, 1,915 m high, is the principal volcano of the Nasu range, with views of its crater and fumaroles; 1,896 m Mount Asahi offers rugged cliffs and a wide mountain panorama.
