Mount Nagareishi (1,812 m) rises on the boundary between Nasu Town in Tochigi and Shimogō Town in Fukushima, just west of Mount Sanbongariyari—the highest of the Nasu massif—across the Ō-tōge pass on the historic Aizu-Naka-Kaidō. The peak lies in Nikkō National Park, and the bamboo-grass ridge beyond Ō-tōge is celebrated as one of the most striking flower walks of the 'Ura-Nasu', particularly in mid-July when Nikkō-kisuge daylilies cover the slopes in gold.
