Mekabuchi Ski Area Closed

Mekabuchi Ski Area, once also written 女鹿淵, was a small hill at Shin-Kazawa Onsen in Tsumagoi, Gunma, beside Prefectural Road 94. Opened in 1958, it had a single 465 m single-chair lift serving two mostly beginner runs between about 1,280 m and 1,360 m, close to the other Kazawa ski areas. It closed in the mid-to-late 1980s; the lift has been removed and trees have since grown over the upper slope.
