Inosawa Citizens' Ski Area Closed
Official name 伊ノ沢市民スキー場
Hokkaido
Closed in 2026
Inosawa Citizens' Ski Area was a small municipal hill in Kamui, Asahikawa, used by local skiers for about a century from the Taisho era. In its later years it was the last citizens' ski area left in the city: a single beginner slope served by a rope tow. In October 2026 the operator, Asahikawa Shinko Kosha, announced that the 2025-26 season had been its last, because parts for its ageing snow groomer were no longer available and the worn rope tow could no longer be run safely.
History of Inosawa Citizens' Ski Area
- Closed
- 2026
- Operators
- Asahikawa Shinko Kosha (1961-2026, facility manager)
- Why it closed
- The snow groomer had become unreliable with parts no longer supplied, and the ageing rope tow made safe operation difficult; the operator ended operations after the 2025-26 season (last day 2026-02-23 per Tabide's earlier check; the official news shows the season opening on 2025-12-30).
