Gosannen Ski Area is a free town-run slope in Karinosato Yamamoto Park in Misato, Akita: there is no lift charge and you can come and go as you like. A gentle run of about 200 m is served by a rope tow and two T-bars, ideal for children and first-time snowboarders. It is lit for evening sessions on weekdays and open from morning to night on Saturdays, and it is a ten-minute walk from JR Gosannen Station. The park hosted Akita's first prefecture-wide ski meet in 1924, and the Yutopia Karinosato hot spring is in the same park. There is no equipment rental.

Getting to Gosannen Ski Area and parking
- Car
- On Route 13, turn right at the third traffic light from Michi-no-Eki Misato and drive about 5 min, then turn left at the light with the sign for Heian-no-Kaze Wataru Park (平安の風わたる公園) and drive about 5 min

- Gosannen Station JR Ou Main Line → 10 min on foot
