Jeunesse Kurikoma Ski Resort trail map
Jeunesse Kurikoma is a ski area on the foot of Mount Kurikoma in Higashinaruse, Akita, whose big draw is the slopeside Yamayuri Onsen hotel with its strongly alkaline hot spring. Opened in 1991, it has 11 runs over about 375 m of vertical: the gentle Rose course for first-timers and the 2.5 km Claire cruiser, the race-grade L course, the ungroomed Reve run and the 40-degree Mole pitch for experts. Powder days bring good off-piste riding, so families and strong skiers both find something. The season runs from late December to early March, about 40 minutes by car from the Jumonji interchange.
