Matsurube Snowland trail map
Matsurube Snowland is Ichinoseki City's family ski hill on Route 342 in the foothills of Mount Kurikoma. Two pair chairlifts serve just two runs: the gentle South course, about 720 m long with a free rope tow for little ones, and the steeper North course for stronger skiers who like a quick straight descent. It is run together with the neighbouring Ichinoseki Kenko no Mori lodge, which offers a rest hall, day bathing and overnight stays. Lessons for primary-school beginners and free-lift days for children make it a local favourite. The season runs from late December to mid-March, about 35 minutes by car from Ichinoseki IC.
