Ginzan Onsen Ski Area Closed
Official name 銀山温泉スキー場
Yamagata
Ginzan Onsen Ski Area was a small ski hill about ten minutes' walk from the Ginzan Onsen hot-spring village in Obanazawa, Yamagata. It offered roughly 130 m of vertical, a single chairlift of about 600 m and a few runs up to around 800 m long, and a 1970s guidebook also lists a rope tow. Guests at the onsen inns could ski there without a long drive. The closing date is not recorded, but the hill has been shut for decades. Its old base area is now one of the main car parks for visitors to Ginzan Onsen, and the concrete foundation of the lift still stands beside it.
