Yakushidake

Yakushidake is a 1,322 m peak on the slopes of Adatara-yama (1,700 m) in Nihonmatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, right beside the upper station of the Adatara ropeway. The Yakushidake panorama park and lookout (about 1,350 m), five minutes from the station, is known as the site of the "real sky" (honto no sora) in Kōtarō Takamura's poem cycle Chieko-shō, marked by a monument. Adatara-yama lies at the southern end of Bandai-Asahi National Park. The lookout offers views of Nihonmatsu and the Abukuma River.
