Mt. Ooiwa

Oiwa is a 1,133 m sharp rocky peak in Nanmoku Village, Gunma Prefecture. Together with the neighbouring Aoiwa it is dubbed the "Matterhorn of the Nishi-Joshu" and rises like a spear above the village. The Nanmoku Village tourism office maintains a circuit trail from the Sandan-no-Taki parking area over Aoiwa and Oiwa, rated upper-level due to continuous rock sections. The peak appears in the Gunma 300, Nishi-Joshu 120, and other regional mountain guides.
