Mt. Myojo is a 1,189-meter limestone peak in Itoigawa City, Niigata Prefecture, lying at the northern end of the Hida Mountains within the Hakuba Sanroku Prefectural Natural Park. Its south face is famous nationwide as a rock-climbing wall, and the Hisui Gorge at its foot (the Kotaki-gawa jadeite locality) is designated a national natural monument. The peak appears on lists including the Niigata 100, Echigo 100, and Hokuriku Shinkansen 100 Famous Mountains.
