Hakuba Iwatake Mountain Resort trail map
Hakuba Iwatake sits on a free-standing 1,289 m peak in the middle of Hakuba Village, and its summit faces the Hakuba Sanzan and the wider Northern Alps head-on. The Noah gondola climbs to the top, where runs spread over a Village Side and a Mountain Side: the 3.3 km Sunny Valley cruise, steeper base runs up to 33 degrees, the Back Bowl and several ungroomed powder zones. A summit snow play area with sledding, a terrain park and view cafés make it easy for mixed groups and families. Part of HAKUBA VALLEY, it is also known for student races and runs summer mountain biking and sightseeing.

- Nagoya Station → Hakuba Station JR Limited Express Shinano, JR Oito Line · About 3 h 30 min · From Osaka about 4 h 30 min via Nagoya and Matsumoto; from Kanazawa about 2 h 40 min by Hokuriku Shinkansen to Itoigawa, then the Oito Line. JR Shinano-Moriue Station is also an option → Free shuttle bus from JR Hakuba Station or the Hakuba Happo bus stop (limited periods)
