Hakuba Happo-one Ski Resort trail map
Hakuba Happo-one spreads down a long ridge facing the jagged Hakuba peaks of the Northern Alps, and hosted the alpine downhill and super-G races of the 1998 Nagano Olympics. Over 1,000 m of vertical and cruising routes of up to 8 km run from the upper lifts to the village. The upper mountain is serious terrain: the Usagidaira mogul pitch, steep Kurobishi, an experts-only free-riding zone and gated backcountry access. Lower down, Nagiyama and Sakibana offer gentle slopes and a kids' park. A gondola and some twenty chairlifts link it all, and the area is part of the Hakuba Valley lift pass. The season runs from December into early May, with Happo Onsen and plenty of lodging at the base.
