Mt. Meshimori

Mt. Meshimori is a 1,643 m peak in the Hirasawa area of Minamimaki Village, Minamisaku District, Nagano Prefecture, named for its distinctive cone shape said to resemble a heaping bowl of rice. It straddles the Central Watershed: rain on its northern face flows into the Chikuma River and the Sea of Japan, while rain on its southern slope feeds the Kamanashi River and the Pacific. The summit affords a 360-degree panorama of the Yatsugatake Range, Mount Fuji, and the Southern Alps, and Nikkō-kisuge bloom in summer. The Shishi-iwa and Hirasawa trailheads each reach the summit in about an hour. The peak is included on the Shinshū Furusato 120, the 50 Flower Mountains, and many other regional lists.
