Mount Ubagatake

Mount Ubagatake (1,670 m) is a southern shoulder of Mount Gassan in Nishikawa Town, Yamagata Prefecture, within the special zone of Bandai-Asahi National Park. From the upper station of the Gassan pair lift the summit is only about 30 minutes away, and the peak sits along the popular Ubazawa approach ridge to Gassan. Alpine flowers bloom in succession as the snow recedes, and the peak is included in the Yamagata Hyakumeizan.
