Mount Konara (1,713 m) lies in Makioka, Yamanashi City, a plateau-like summit at the southern end of a spur from the main Okuchichibu ridge. Formerly called 古那羅山, its summit area includes the Matoishi rock and Shakujogahara meadow, with Japanese azaleas and broad views of Mount Fuji and the Southern Alps. The maintained ridge trail from Yakiyama Pass via Matoishi is suitable for beginners and families.
