This Yamanashi 100 Famous Mountains return route goes from Yakeyama Pass via Matoishi and Shakujo-gahara to 1,713 m Mount Konara. It follows a forested ridge with relatively little elevation gain or distance. The summit overlooks the Kofu Basin and Mount Fuji beyond the Misaka Mountains, while Shakujo-gahara on its north side has colonies of Japanese azalea.
